Too much of a good thing? Horny Toad has partnered with Goodwill® to help Share the Warmth this season, by asking you to donate your pre-loved clothes. The revenue from the sale of these donated items goes to funding job training and enhancing quality of life for many people in need. Also, donating clothes helps recycle usable clothing in environmentally sound ways, keeping billions of pounds of clothing out of U.S. landfills—a little added nugget of eco-love.

Not only do you reap the benefits of the philanthropy warm-and-fuzzies, but you get 15% off new Horny Toad clothes.

How it works

• Take your pre-loved clothes to a local Goodwill donation center. Find one in your area here.
• Tell us about how many units you donated and how great it felt, on this page!
• Use code GOODWILL at checkout for 15% off new Horny Toad duds. If you'd rather shop at a participating dealer with your discount, you can find one using the dealer locater to the right.

We are a family that loves the outdoors! We are donating winter gear that the kids have outgrown. Coats, hats, ski pants! Also some well loved adult gear. Hope someone gets as much outside enjoyment as we have with these warm pieces.

In the Goodwill bin behind the Galley Hatch in Hampton, NH I dropped off a very warm, long wool coat that I loved and wore for years. It is still in great shape but it is royal blue and black goes better with my work clothes. For months I waivered because the well-loved coat is so toasty, but when I found a black coat on sale last week, I knew it was time to let someone else enjoy the purple warmth. I also dropped off two pairs of pants that no longer work with my wardrobe.

Sharing feels so good

It feels so good to know that others can enjoy our extras. We had so much for so long, and are now unemployed and struggling economically (like so many). 5 pair of shoes that were barely worn - that's why I call them hand-me-overs rather than hand-me-downs. My two daughters had wonderful dress clothes and coats that they grew out of before they wore them out, so they're like getting almost new clothing. I've been donating gently worn clothing for years to a local shelter and to the "Old Will" (the name my daughter gave to the Good Will because we would always have a shopping bag set aside in our house to put things in that we didn't wear or use anymore).

Horny Toad is one of my favorite companies, not only because you guys make fantastic clothes, but also because you are socially conscious. I donate my used clothing on a regular basis--nearly every season as I change out my wardrobe from winter clothing to summer, etc. Here in Maine where we have a large community of folks who are unemployed, I'm certain the clothing I donate is put to good use.

Thanks to this reminder, I took clothes I no longer wear to my local Goodwill this morning. It made me feel good because especially in this tough economic climate, shopping for new clothes has become a luxury to many people and I understand that first hand. Unfortunately I lost my job a little over one month ago, so shopping for new clothes is not in my budget.

My 5 year old donates her things now too

My daughter is often in the car with me when I drop clothes off at our local Goodwill. We talk about why we donate things. Last Christmas she asked if she could donate her bicycle because it was too small for her. Now, when we get dressed in the morning, if something is too small for her, we put it in the donate pile. When the bag is full, we drop it off at
Goodwill.

i clean out my closet 3 times a year. i get rid of all the clothes that i haven't worn in a year. no exceptions. even if they were really expensive. so much the better! i figure someone else will get a really nice item at an awesome price! ( i tend to be a clothes horse). but i love to share also. and i LOVE to make people happy. i am one of those people who will literally give someone the coat off of my back. so - what a great program! i heart horny toad! ribbit.

we went through our closet in the basement and found ten jackets and coats that we were no longer using. We brought them to Goodwill so that they can give them to people who are cold in Boston! Boston is a wonderful place to live in- IF a person is dressed warmly enough to enjoy it

i'm not actually sure how many articles of clothing we cleaned out, but between my husband and i, we took 4 bags to goodwill! i do clothing exchanges with friends and sometimes it takes a while before i realize i've taken way more free clothes than i need...or have space for! so now we're moving and during the packing realized it's time to pass them on. hopefully some other folks can get some good use out of our items.

I have the rule that if something new goes into my closet (or apartment), then something else must be donated... something that either doesn't fit or hasn't been worn/loved in recent months finds a new home via the Santa Barbara Goodwill on a regular basis. Living in a tiny apartment keeps the closet space at a premium!

Share a Coat Program

EAch year our local Rotary collects and dsitributes light used warm outer wera including coats, vloves hats and mittens.

A local clearner, Art Cleaners, donates all the clearnig services to the cause. All the coats are taken to the local distribttuion center wherr non for profits coordinate a big effort to have fmailies shop and acquire these coats for free rigth before the holdiay. I try to contribute something every year, but this year was able to procure 10 coats through my daughter and my efforts.

We sorted through several closets and numerous boxes and gave to the Brodie Lane Goodwill a total of 296 garments, including dresses, skirts, men's and women's shirts, ties, pants and shorts. Most of the clothes were in great shape.

Love this!
