Our little old hometown of Santa Barbara not only offers the ability to skateboard to the park or throw down a beer at the beach but we also have our share of cultural and artistic happenings going on. Enter our friends at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. They put together a festival that seems to have a knack for predicting Academy Award® winners, maybe because of our distance to Los Angeles and the timing is so close to the big event. It is like the sneak peak into the Oscars®. It is two weeks filled with all types of unbelievable films. The worst part is having to pick and choose which ones you’ll be able to catch and which ones you’ll have to miss. We often skip an afternoon at work to catch the next cool indie film. Plus there are great events and plenty of star gazing if that’s what you are into.
