Just because the economy has slowed down, doesn't mean you have to - the fun must go on! This summer lots of us are opting out of the exotic vacations to far-flung places in favor of the staycation or road trip.

Wherever you end up going we want you to send us a Post Card from the Edge. Submit a photo on our site (or snail mail us a postcard) with a caption about that roadside attraction, strangely worded sign, or something that just made you do a double take - ya know, like that huge cow you found in Colorado ... weird but hilarious.

So, hit the open road or even your own town, and show us the quirky things you saw this summer vacation. Join us in our crusade against the mundane and get entered into a drawing for some killer prizes that will extend your vacation.

Spotting Jay Leno in Las Vegas (last July) is not all that uncommon; however, he was simultaneously on the Tonight Show show in L.A......so how did he do that??!

In the mountains of Virginia, in a 'lil town called Batesville, I came across this gem of a vehicle. The only thing I got on this "road-trip" to heaven was a free ride and a tetanus shot. Just kidding.

Trash running in Maine - it's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. I organized a race cleanup with some fellow runners and cleaned up the neighborhood after the event. Good times doing good :)

We were returning from a river rafting trip in Moab and decided to take the "long" way home. We came across this "Jeep" that was made from a bunch of metal parts welded together. Talk about recycling. Too bad the Jeep didn't actually run, that's one bone my dogs would have loved to have chased, but then again, the gas mileage would really suck!

In the California Desert is a place called SALVATION MOUNTAIN, built by Leonard Knight, a devotee to the Lord. This amazing structure is built from haystacks, plaster and a ton of paint. He said this monument is his prayer to God. When Jesus people show up and begin to pray in front of his Mountain he immediately stops them and says, this is not a place of worship, this is 'THE PRAYER' - HIS PRAYER TO GOD. prayer or not, whatever it is, it surely is the best thing since sliced bread!
