Just because the economy has slowed down, doesn't mean you have to - the fun must go on! This summer lots of us are opting out of the exotic vacations to far-flung places in favor of the staycation or road trip.

Wherever you end up going we want you to send us a Post Card from the Edge. Submit a photo on our site (or snail mail us a postcard) with a caption about that roadside attraction, strangely worded sign, or something that just made you do a double take - ya know, like that huge cow you found in Colorado ... weird but hilarious.

So, hit the open road or even your own town, and show us the quirky things you saw this summer vacation. Join us in our crusade against the mundane and get entered into a drawing for some killer prizes that will extend your vacation.

During the Jesusita Fires, our family escaped to the beach in the Mesa for some "fresh" air. The smoke created an unbelievable sunset framed against the surfers who took a break from the stress of the fires to catch waves at Mesa Lane.

On the usually mundane stretch of highway known as I-35 that runs straight through the center of Texas, you might just pass a gem of a roadside attraction known as the "Snake Farm." Legendary to some, mysterious to others this little cheap piece of heaven is a must see for any adventurous toad. (Sorry, no horny toads are currently on display.)

The last night at the Burning Man festival I took a few photos of the art cars on the Playa. Most night pictures don't turn out so well but the Cheshire cat turned out so cool. You never know what you'll see around the next corner! Open your eyes and dream!

This is a road sign outside of the plaza of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. My friend and I were walking along on one of the back streets leading up to the plaza, saw this sign and just lost it, laughing hysterically. At first we assumed we didn't understand it because we were foreigners but over the years I have come to believe that it is just there to confuse the foreigners.

My girlfriend and I were on our annual girl's motorcycle trip. We had stopped in Barbeau, MI to wait for the ferry to Drummond Island. It was worth the wait as we got to see the 1,000 foot iron ore boat, the Cort go by just 20 feet from where we were.
