Just because the economy has slowed down, doesn't mean you have to - the fun must go on! This summer lots of us are opting out of the exotic vacations to far-flung places in favor of the staycation or road trip.

Wherever you end up going we want you to send us a Post Card from the Edge. Submit a photo on our site (or snail mail us a postcard) with a caption about that roadside attraction, strangely worded sign, or something that just made you do a double take - ya know, like that huge cow you found in Colorado ... weird but hilarious.

So, hit the open road or even your own town, and show us the quirky things you saw this summer vacation. Join us in our crusade against the mundane and get entered into a drawing for some killer prizes that will extend your vacation.

Could life be any better? Classic cruiser bike, local market and pizza place in a sleepy Colorado Mountain town...I don't think so.

This was taken at Potts Creek Outfitters in Paint Bank, VA. Beautiful place for fly fishing and to enjoy the comfort of Alleghany Mountains. If you're lucky, you may see roaming buffalo!! But be sure to be cow-tious....

Since my husband's recent paycut, we will be spending most of our summer in our own backyard in Fort Collins, Colorado. As you can see, our home with four children, two cats, 15 hens, one ignorant rooster and a placid old dog can be interesting enough at times.

I am a vegetarian, thank you very much. This sculpture was found as I was passing through Santa Fe, NM one summer. I now live there and drive past it almost every day, always remembering that afternoon.

Portrait of a civilan military contractor on a chopper flight from Al Asad Air Base to Al Qa'Im Iraq; Feb, 2007. He worked in the laundry & this was his first entry into theater. Lord knows what he was thinking as he was hovering above the Iraqi desert.

Traveling on 2-wheels, classic steel frames, old-school roubaix style touring. Styley sag wagon totin' vino, cheese, emergency supply of snacks...all the necessities. Plenty of beautiful riding, an occasional hand-rolled smoke, and only a few cows to compete with somewhere near Hot Springs, Montana.Throw in an evening of soaking, live music and good cheer and we're talking a great time. Viva cino heroica!

Alongside the eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 in Dover, Florida, an individual by the name of Frank Bates buried eight Airstream travel trailers nose-down. It is not far from Tampa, and I often pass it on the way to Orlando and beyond. I finally decided to pull over and take a picture of this creation.
