Green Living Project is hitting the road to produce two new short films in partnership with leading urban food organizations – and we’re proudly sponsoring their efforts.  They’ll be tackling important issues like food justice, urban agriculture, food deserts, obesity and more.  For behind-the-scenes snapshots and live updates from the field, be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Their first stop is Oakland, CA where they’re visiting People’s Grocery. People’s Grocery has set up a unique public health project for reducing childhood obesity.  They’ve also started a Grub Box program that brings affordable produce to low-income families via urban agriculture.  Watch this cool video to learn more:

Their second stop is Salt Lake City, UT where they’ll be connecting with the International Rescue Committee, a leading global humanitarian relief and development organization doing remarkable work.  IRC’s New Roots program teaches local refugees how to grow fresh, affordable, nutritious food that can then be marketed and sold. Watch this video and see how New Roots helps people grow not just food, but communities as well.
