From a valley squeezed between stunning peaks that could make sailor move inland, we celebrated the 35th anniversary of MountainFilm in Telluride – and it was one for the books.
The Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado is known to grab onto your heart and not let go. Since my first MountainFilm four years ago, I could not imagine missing a year. It’s a kind of mid-year New Year’s where you’re left shaken and stirred, but eager to start again. The films leave you inspired to act, the conversations leave you wanting more.
This year RED REEL had the wonderful opportunity to have two films from the MoveShake series in MountainFilm. The world premiere of Gregg Treinish, A MoveShake Story received a Moving Mountains award that grants $2,000 to Gregg’s nonprofit Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation. So honored to have the support of this community and be able to give back to a wonderful organization like ASC!
If you missed this amazing festival, make sure to put in on the calendar for next year… In the mean time, here are a few films that you can catch online!
“Each year Badru Mugerwa sets 60 camera traps in the rugged forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. His work is part of the TEAM Network, a global web of field stations that provide an early warning system for loss of biodiversity in tropical forests.”
“Tonya Littlewolf has rescued wolves all her life. WOLF MOUNTAIN is a beautiful portrait of Tonya that explores her spiritual connection with the serene and misunderstood animals.”
“The true story of Kendrick, a young calf roper who dreams of one day making it to the Las Vegas rodeo finals.”
“Every year we get a little older. How you choose to celebrate is up to you.”
